Second Week of Semester 2

Best Shot

    The class commenced using Zoom platform. As soon as we get into the meeting, Dr. Shukri gave Google Slide link and assigned us to upload our best photo that we took. In this activity, I get to learn choosing the best picture taken by myself. I tried using my own limited knowledge to judge picture is the best. Therefore, I came up with the picture below. The photo below was taken at Puffing Billy, Melbourne, Australia. I chose the photo because I put much effort in both capturing and editing skills, When I captured the photo, I have taken symmetry aspect to make it look nice. After that, I used Adobe Lightroom Mobile and edited it to look like it have 60's vibe. As an additional information, Puffing Billy is a tourist attraction that has steamed train. It was preserved back then and it is still working until today. That's why I edited it to have that old vibes.

Analyzing Photo

    After that, Dr. Shukri began to expose us with visual literacy and assigned us to analyze photo according to our understanding. Again, with my limited knowledge, I tried my best to analyze the photo. I put together my knowledge plus logic thinking in analyzing photo. I'm not an expert in digital photography but I do have small skills to show. From the activity, I get to earn extra knowledge like determining the theme, object, subject of the photo. The class took a short break at 10.50 a.m. before continued at 11.10 a.m. 

Visual Literacy

    As we continue our class, Dr. Shukri gave lecture about visual literacy and exposed us to many new term in digital photography. I get to know terms like EXIF data and more. I've also get to know that photo can be more than just an image. It can express in many thing in various topic such as memes, infographic etc.

    To sum the class, Dr. Shukri gave final assessment of the day by having us to take photo and submit it before midnight. Therefore, I tried my best to take photo in the most aesthetic way that I could. After taking photo, I edited it to look make it more beautiful. Therefore, I'm sure I manage to polish my editing skills.

    Overall, I enjoyed the class very much as I get to expose with new terms in Digital Photography. I also get to learn to take photo creatively. In short, I'm looking forward to next week class and can't wait to learn more from Dr. Shukri.
