Fifth Week of Semester 2

Day : Wednesday

Date : 31/3/2021

Time : 10.05 a.m. - 11.05 a.m.

For this week's lesson, we learnt about the topic Visualisation. It can be described as the combination of creativity and techniques to mentally see the photographic image before releasing the image. From snapshooter to professional, one things always remain the same; the understanding of visualisation. For me, this concept is important to remember because it is a basic that all photographers need to know; creativity and techniques. Even if you have a pricey camera, the picture won't be beautiful and meaningful if you don't visualise the object that you want to capture.

Apart from that, I also get introduced to quote by famous photographers like Edward Weston and Moriyama Daido. For me, everyone can take a picture, but not everyone can turn message into picture. A good picture contains 1001 stories. That's why visualisation is important for everyone to acknowledge.

As for this week challenge, we were required to choose a single object to capture. This week's challenge theme is One Subject, Multiple Viewpoint. With a single object, we are required to capture the object from multiple angle. The subject that I choose is DualShock 4 (DS4), a controller/ joystick for PlayStation 4. With DS4, I try visualise the image first before snapping the picture.

From my point of view, I chose artificial grass for my background to make the object stand out. This is because grass has a single, plain colour. Therefore, it is suitable to be a background. An object has it value towards the photographer. The reason why I chose DS4 for my object is because DS4 has always been my accompany for over 5 years. I've been playing many games using DS4; mostly FIFA series. I've turned pro player for FIFA and won many tournament. Recently, I won third place in IIUM KEMNS E-SPORT CUP 2021. Therefore, this DS4 has so much good memories with me. I tried to snap from multiple viewpoint to make it look aesthetic. The close-up picture is amazingly beautiful to me. Below are the result.

Multiple Viewpoint of DS4

Overall, I enjoyed taking picture of the object from multiple viewpoint because we can see a object from a unique perspective. Usually, we only see the object from far away and that's it. We didn't have a closer look at the object. Therefore, when I captured from a closer look and unique angle, I can see the perfect built of the object. That's it for this week's reflection. I'm looking forward for next challenge.
